Beach Cleanups

In 2005, I was born in Maui, Hawaii and have lived here ever since. Growing up in this beautiful place, I have developed a love and appreciation for nature, and how much it has to give. Recently I have witnessed an increase in pollution, both in remote locations and popular beaches. I love the ocean. It is a massive part of my life, as it surrounds Maui, and my adventurous lifestyle. I have done multiple beach-clean-ups, and love most water sports. I have a few lengthy ideas to help the environment out here, and bring awareness to Hawaii’s wide array of visitors. Out here in the middle of the ocean, supplies are limited. This stresses the need to be self sufficient and eco friendly. I believe that recycling  the regular items and the overlooked ‘vacation’ items is a must in order to keep Maui’s environment pristine. In class, I can bring a pure and optimistic view to anything we do, as well as an ambitious attitude.
